This is a x2 piece Lot of one Catalogue (Bern Kunsthalle-CH) and one Poster (ICA London) for the 1969 & 1970 “Live in Your Head. When Attitudes Become Form” exhibition.

1969 & 1970 “Live in Your Head. When Attitudes Become Form” curated by the great Harald Szeemann traveled to Kunsthalle Bern-CH, to the Museum Haus Lange, Krefeld Germany, and to the ICA London the Art World changed forever. This original printing of the catalog for the 1969 exhibition sponsored by the Philip Morris tobacco company is historic and groundbreaking for changing traditions in Curation (Philosophy/presentation of) & Art (Minimalism, Conceptualism, Land Art, and the Death of painting until the 80’s). Imagine though London 1969 Fashion, Revolution, Music, and Art. This Lot is a reflection of that!

The exhibit featured the highly conceptual work of the Post-Minimalist artists from Europe and America including Hans Haacke, Sol Lewitt, Carl Andre, Yves Klein, Robert Ryman, Richard Long, and more. The catalogue is alphabetically indexed by name. Each entry features a profile on the artist with photographic reproductions from the exhibit along with scans of various articles and writings including instructions and statements from the artists themselves. Unpaginated.

The Posters image is illustrated with Victor Burgin's image of floorboards (see ARTFORUM 1974). The Poster is printed in Beautiful Silver Ink that is very London 1969. Designed by James Meller and printed by J & P Atchison Ltd.

So important was this Exhibition the PRADA Foundation re created the show in 2013, curated by Germano Celant in dialogue with Thomas Demand and Rem Koolhaas, Again a show curated by Harald Szeemann at the Bern Kunsthalle in 1969, which went down in history for Szeemann’s radical approach to exhibition practice, conceived as a linguistic & physical medium- Curation. A surprising remaking of the 1969 exhibition in the architecturally historical Venetian Palazzo of Ca’ Corner della Regina, Venezia.
