I met Paige Powell when she worked at Interview Magazine she was definitely a ‘Downtown’ it girl. She was kind enough to introduce me to some of the biggest names in Art, Literature, and Music. A kind person. Little did I know she was the former ‘girlfriend’ of Basquiat. She has since exhibited intimate photos of Basquiat. Here we have one when she and Basquiat traveled to Hawaii. For Basquiat this was an attempt to clean up from his deepening Heroin use…it didn’t work. But in this photo, taken in 1984, Basquiat seems noble, shining, a ‘radiant Child’. Edition of 100.
