Artist, author, educator, and organizer Faith Ringgold (1930-2024) is one of the most influential cultural figures of her generation, with a career linking the multidisciplinary practices of the Harlem Renaissance to the political art of young Black artists working today.

This is a Rare original Poster from 1971 from Faith who self-published this poster in 1971. On verso, Poster is stamped Faith Ringgold Studio with Harlem address.

This work is Classic visual 70's OP Art work. What takes my breath away are all Faith’s posters. The posters from the 1960s/1970s where she had used bright colors, paper collage, and her characteristic lettering to advocate for Black rights, Women’s rights, and other causes. Woman Freedom Now (1971), which is represented in the MoMA, NY collection with a maquette that was used to create these poster prints. The posters were meant to be distributed at public meetings and displayed at spontaneous protests during the early 1970s.

An Optically Fun image! Never so fun as to forget the Political meaning and significance of this image and Her work. Even as skateboards can be had with this image. Very RARE !!!
