Rare Museum worthy, moody, minimalist design gives depth to the subject matter- NYC! International graphic master Tomoko Miho uses Red to great effect, to heighten the dramatic feel of a poster promoting the bridges of New York City, Miho suffused a stock photograph of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge in Red. The closely-cropped image of the bridge is seen from below so that the suspension cables swing from one corner of the poster to the other.

This is a poster for the Container Corporation of America. From the 1930s, the CCA, manufacturers of paperboard, containers and cartons, commissioned leading avant-garde designers and artists to design their advertisements. They successfully projected an image of the company as a prestigious business with strong cultural commitments. Among their best-known campaigns were the ‘Great Ideas of Western Man’ and the ‘New York’ series, four of which were designed by the American graphic designer Tomoko Miho. The posters were simply intended to brighten up the parks, subways and buildings of New York City.
