This is so rare not many are familiar with this 1967 exhibition Poster for Richard Bernstein and John Loring at The Paolo Barozzi Galleria Venezia Italia. John Loring: Was design director emeritus of Tiffany & Co., where he was design director from 1979 to 2009. He is the author of numerous books about Tiffany's and art in general and a longtime contributor to Architectural Digest.

Paolo Barozzzi: In 1959, he met the American collector Peggy Guggenheim in Venice. Since then they were linked by a long working relationship and deep friendship. He began working between Dallas and New York, followed by trips to London and Paris. From 1961 to 1967 he worked as Peggy Guggenheim's personal secretary and as assistant at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection with the task of managing the young artists' gallery, set up in the basement of Palazzo Venier dei Leoni. He dedicated books and a profile to the American collector in Gli Americans and Italy, edited by Sergio Romano, Milan, Libri Scheiwiller, 1993.

Andy Warhol stated: “Richard Bernstein is my favorite artist. He makes everyone look so famous.” When Warhol wanted to revamp Interview in 1972, he invited his friend Richard Bernstein to join him, ushering in an obsession with celebrity in cultural media. Bernstein painted 189 covers for the magazine, idealizing the famous, the infamous, and the up-and-coming celebrities.

Bernstein’s works are in the permanent collections of the Museum of Modern Art, New York; Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; National Portrait Gallery, Washington D.C., Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam, Hirshhorn Museum, Washington D.C.; Corcoran Art Gallery, Washington D.C., Victoria and Albert Museum, United Kingdom and has had exhibitions at the Iris Clert Gallery, Paris, Gallerie Barozzi, Venice; Gallerie Axiom, London; Gallery Monet, Amsterdam among others. Recent group and solo and group exhibitions include: Andy Warhol’s Social Network: ‘Interview’, Television and Portraits (2022-2023), The Andy Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA; Studio 54: Night Magic (2020), Brooklyn Museum, NY; and Richard Bernstein: Fame (2018), Deitch, NY.
