This is a vintage 1967 Exhibition Poster ‘FUNK’ which was held at UC Berkeley. The "Funk" exhibition was held in 1967 at the University Art Museum (now BAMPFA) at UC Berkeley, curated by Peter Selz. The landmark show documented a new, often humorous and defiant, attitude in the Bay Area art scene, particularly influencing ceramics and including artists like Robert Arneson, Bruce Conner, Roy De Forest, and William T. Wiley. The exhibition and the movement it represented were characterized by their individuality, resistance to labels, and a playful, sometimes "ugly," approach to art-making!
