$675.00

This is an Original Italian first Printing of a 1900 advertisement for OREOL IL MIGLIORE DENTIFRICIO. (Trans. OREOL The Best Toothpaste.) An Incredible Advertising Poster  that is 122 years old!

This image to our Contemporary eyes can only be described as 'PoP' the exaggerated Mouth, Teeth, Tonsil, and Stars look very familiar in/from the 60's/70's. Only two Colours used Red & Green (and White) to great contrast. The drawing is loose and not mechanical the font is hand drawn as is the whole.

Photos have glare as there was a clear plastic sheet over the image for protection. Paper is Matte.

PoP...a loose term. But 1900 turn of the Century Firenze, Italy would have been Academic in Society, with Degas & Manet just begining to change Taste, this is opposite of all that. In its Fun declaration "IL MIGLIORE DENTIFRICIO" (The Best Toothpaste). The Mouth has stars coming from it. A beautiful composition!

Printed on side is G. SPINELLI & Co. (Unknown if Artist or Toothpaste owner or Printer name. No info. Bought at Italian Auction several years ago.)

Deserves framing and Center stage a Classic Poster (Build a Museum for it!).

This Poster is another fine example of Italian Advertising. More often than not, these Posters are not about the Subject but the Art, the interpretation of the Artist. The Artist's Hand, Brain, or brushstrokes- Humour in this case! Pre POP by 60 Years! These italian artists are historically great Masters! These are collectable as Art. Framing instantly adds value, Wow, and Beauty.
